Time to go to the store...

I love the way my little fridge looks full of produce!  So colorful!  A kitchen adventure just waiting to happen!
At least we've still got salad dressings and some fruit

I love old towns

When I was little I really wanted a dollhouse that looked like this

ModPodge Heart-Shaped Box

Another friend's birthday is around the corner.  I bought the box and paper at Lee's Art Shop.
First, I tore out the flowers
And then paint a layer of the glue, place the paper, and another layer of glue on top.  The nice thing about this paper is that it is thin enough to not get bubbles.  You can smooth out any edges with your fingers, or tear the paper to fold around a corner.
The sides of the box are finished!  I think I'd like to paper the inside box base, but I am waiting to see how "hard" it dries first.

The lid is also finished.  I'll still do the base, but have to save that for another day.

My Little Ponies

I got this set in Stockholm years ago.  I'm pretty sure I have a "thing" for things that are blue.

MoMA or AMoM... one or the other!

On my way to Niketown to run tonight, I saw the reflection of the MoMA sign and had to take a picture...

The Little Cabin in Vermont

Our little cabin... Valentine's Day/ President's Day weekend in Eden Mills, Vermont
No TV, no cell phone coverage, but a fireplace and a gourmet kitchen

We're assuming the lake will be frozen mid February, with less fall foliage

The entire slideshow is here

Snowy Central Park on a run

I brought my camera on a run yesterday (thank you little zip-lock bag in my pocket).  Central Park, which I now know like the back of my hand was completely transformed.  Absolutely beautiful.  The only tough thing about running in snow like that is your eyes... if you wear sunglasses (yellow lenses), your eyes are protected, but they tend to fog up and you can't see anyways.  Otherwise, the snow clumps onto your lashes and eyebrows.  I think you get to a certain point though where your eyelashes are heavy enough with snow that they actually shield your eyes from the direct snowflake assault.

Little Snow People in Central Park

I brought my camera on my run today to film a video essay for Nike.  Talk about a warm welcome from these lil' guys!
"Take my wallet!  Take whatever you want!  We're in New York City!"

They look like little bride & groom snow people.

Just another 5th Avenue Church

On my way to Niketown run club the other day

From Russia with Love

Serge got back this week from Russia...

Date night was cooking dinner together and then to a movie

He brought me back a beautiful tray from Moscow in a traditional Russian style.  I love the colors!!!  Note how well it goes with the vase he got me for Christmas.

I already had the Nesting Dolls, but Serge thought they all needed some fresh air.  Look at how tiny the littlest one is- probably half the size of a baby tooth.

West 57th Street

On the way to work.  A brisk 15 degrees outside, but absolutely beautiful
Both Angelina Jolie and I really like Lee's Art Shop.  She actually buys things.  I like to look.

Contrary to all logic, the Brooklyn Diner is in midtown Manhattan.  The clock tells me exactly how late my picture-talking excursion will make me.

Carnegie Hall Tonight!!!

In early December, I listened to an Economist podcast about Mahler's 2nd Symphony, known as the Resurrection.  The description was so inspiring that I promptly finished my run and downloaded the symphony on itunes.

A few weeks ago, I was walking home past Carnegie Hall (as usual... how great is it that I pass by on my way home from work?) and saw a sign about an upcoming performance of Mahler's 3rd Symphony.

The performance is called "Mahler for the Children of AIDS" and is a "Benefit for the Pediatric AIDS work of Catholic Medical Mission Board."

This will be my first time to Carnegie Hall.  I love that I am both supporting a good cause and I get to see a live performance of Mahler.

Snowy-ness

Okay, this picture is from yesterday.  Central Park looked much prettier, but I can't see the park from my apartment window.  Instead we have to settle for the cliffs of New Jersey across the Hudson, if it weren't snowing and you could actually see across the river.

Petrossian... New York's Beautiful Architecture

I took this picture on the way to the dentist office.  I also just looked at the awning and realize it is called "Petrossian" and not "Petrorussian."

As in,  "Let's go eat some caviar and drink vodka at the Petro-Russian!"

Blue Willow

I found this set of China in an antique store in Madison, CT for a ridiculous price.  So pretty.  It has 6 complete settings and a serving platter, except there are only 4 berry bowls.

I love them and use them every day.  Big fan of blue and white porcelain.
